Slow Down to be Present

Words slow on the road

I’ve written a few times now about slowing down and it came to me during a session that maybe I should expand on what exactly slowing down means in the terms that I am suggesting.

Slowing down doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to slow down and sit and do nothing. It doesn’t mean you stop doing all the things you enjoy doing, or even working “hard”. What I am suggesting, is that you start becoming more aware of the way you desire to use the energies and flow that you are now living in. You may not even be aware of the changes that have happened over the last five to ten years in our energetic abilities to accomplish things and set goals.

I know I’ve talked about the carbon-based energies and crystalline energies before and if you aren’t familiar, I have a great handout that will explain this occurrence, just email me and I’ll send it to you. We are living in these dense human bodies; however, they too are adjusting to this higher more expansive energy flow. With this comes the realization that we no longer are able to push things like we were able to when the energy was more carbon-based and denser.

The example I gave my client, who happens to be in their early 50’s and is wondering if it’s their age or what that is causing the changes that they are having. An example I gave them is, if they have plans on Saturday to drive two hours and work all day with their sibling (something they enjoy doing and are looking forward to), that on Friday, after they’ve worked all day, to take the evening to check in with themselves to ensure they have the energy and focus to do what they desire on Saturday. This allows them to live with intention and awareness. This is the slowing down part.

Many times we are so focused on all the tasks that we believe HAVE to be done, that we push our bodies and energy to exhaustion or complete depletion. When we do this, then what we really want to spend our time and energy on gets pushed to the side or completely ignored. We slowly become hopeless, empty and robotic.

I believe age has nothing to do with this, it is the energies we are living in. It becomes more challenging to push our bodies beyond its current limits and be able to stay healthy and well balanced. I am not saying you cannot push your body, that you shouldn’t do certain things, what I’m conveying is, be aware of the energies you are expending and are you choosing in a way the benefits you to live a fuller richer life in the present?

One of the things I’ve done for myself is to check in often to see where my energy and my focus is at. Sometimes I need to take a break, maybe 15-30 minutes to step away, refresh and then with more focus and energy I can complete the project I’m working on. For those that have been seeing me lately, you know that my practice has become much more expansive and insightful. I believe this is because I’ve been made aware of slowing down and creating space for this growth and expansion to happen.

When we slow down, and allow a bit of space between all the DOING we allow ourselves an opportunity to check in and see if this is really how we want to be navigating this human experience and then make adjustments to our decisions if we are not. Slowing down does not mean sitting still, it’s creating just enough space to be aware of how you want your human experience to be.

Quote about finding the right people

When we start losing friends or people that we felt we were close to, many times it’s because one or both are changing and beginning a language that neither understands anymore. Accept the growth and offer yourself gratitude for having had the life experience with them.
