Snow-filled road through snow covered evergreens

I had to run to the store just now, it’s 6:30 pm. I just realized that what I thought was a pimple (yes, at age 62) is actually a cold sore! I can’t tell you the last time I had one, it’s been years! Anyway, it is so miserably cold here, -13 my car said, with the windchill dipping into -45. I am so grateful for a warm home and a car that is reliable!

My mind was thinking of the 2nd Saturday ZOOM call I held earlier today with five attendees, and I spoke a little about nature handling this weather. I had a few birds come and eat seed I’d put out earlier and my mind meandered to how do the birds and all the rest of nature get through these times? There has to be something more that helps take care of all of nature. A desire, a needing, a wanting to persevere.

As you read this, all warm and cozy, let’s take a moment to uplift and send warm energy, love-energy, supporting energy to not only nature, but to all the people that have no choice but to work and live in this weather. A gratitude that goes beyond the basics. I would encourage you throughout the coming days to bring that gratitude into your heart center and send it out to anyone that needs it (including you).

These winter days provide opportunity to be still and quiet. If you can, take some time to be quiet, to connect into your breath, take a deep breath in to the count of four, hold it to a count of seven and gently breathe out of your mouth to a count of eight. If you can’t do it to the numbers suggested, do it to what does work. Do this a couple of times, you may want to put your hand over your heart. Really feel into your breath and your body. Connect to the “something more”.

Whether you are binging on movies, books, being creative with crafts, or just taking time to get caught up with sleep, enjoy these moments when the rest of the region is forced to slow down, take time and just be.

I came across this post from JeffFosterOfficial on Instagram and it really resonated with me. What is enlightenment? It’s falling in love with this ordinariness. It’s seeing the extraordinary –
