Ladder climbing up to the moon

Do you have dreams for yourself? Not sleeping dreams, dreams of what you want to accomplish, the way your life looks, the way your health is or dreams that feel so unreachable and yet you hold onto them. Do you have dreams so big that you are scared of them coming true?

Often times, we think the dream is the focus, but really, the dream is the desire to grow, go deeper into who we are, open up and discover parts of ourselves that we didn’t even know were there.

I was reminded today, that any dreams I may have, to not be afraid of creating them, to strive towards them, even if the specific dream doesn’t come true, there are many “dreams” that are created through the process of reaching further than what I was focused on. People coming into my life to teach, encourage and support me. Plus, even if the specific dream never comes true, what if the life I’m living, the people around me, the way I navigate through this life is the dream that is the best dream for me?

When I was growing up, my dream was to get married, have children, buy a house and live happily ever after. That dream ended and I was left with what I thought was a horrible, nightmarish, white knuckling survival and trauma galore. What a dream huh? What I am understanding now, is that to get to THIS dream that I currently live, I had to go through some nightmares, plot twists, those kinds of sleep dreams that don’t make any sense and yet, here I am.

There are times I’ve been cautious on having a dream because I didn’t believe it would come true so why bother? What I’ve learned today is to still set the dream, believe in the dream, and yet, don’t get too laser focused on the dream. If I do that, I miss all the growth, insight, and empowerment showing up along the way that allows me to see a bigger dream than I could ever imagine.

What if the dream I had, actually got me to a bigger dream I didn’t even know was available or an option for me?

What are you willing to dream to create the life you truly desire?
