This week it’s a quote type of newsletter with input from me on some of them.

I also wanted to share with you something I’m trying out for myself. I’ve noticed at night, laying in bed, my mind will start thinking of all kinds of subjects. Some of them are things that I experienced during the day, some are what I saw/heard on social media, things I want to get accomplished and so on. Thankfully they aren’t going 150 mph, more like maybe 30 mph. Anyway, a part of me has asked, why am I thinking these thoughts? Almost as if a part of me is the thinking/thought aspect and the observer is asking why. What I find super interesting is the thoughts then seem to stop, or greatly reduce. When I question, there really isn’t a reason that bubbles up. It’s just the thinker thinking. Sometimes I need to do this a couple of times before I can settle in for the night and fall asleep. Explore this, see how it works for you.

quote

I shared this quote for a variety of reasons. As most of you know I’ve been going to therapy and doing deep inner healing and connecting to my body. I also came across an Instagram post of a woman in her 50s that was going through deep grief. Her body had been holding onto the grief of the miscarriage she’d had in her early 20s. It was only now that she was able to honor her body, feelings and emotions to connect to the energy that had been stored. Often, clients will apologize for crying. The habit of shutting off a feeling because of tears and emotions is a learned behavior. If you are someone that tries to not cry or to quickly stop crying, please allow yourself the opportunity to explore why. Why was this simple emotion supposed to be something you didn’t feel? AND, the biggest question, do you really want to keep suppressing? Imagine what other things you are missing out on feeling and enjoying because of this behavior and belief? If I’ve never felt grief, how do I know what joy is?

The above quote is perfect for those working on removing and healing old patterns. As I often tell clients, we work together during the session to expand the feelings and ways of a desire to live. Through that expansion, the energetic muscle of where you desire to be is flexed. However, it takes tenacity and perseverance to keep flexing that energetic muscle and not fall completely back to the chaos and habits. Eventually the chaos and old habits will feel odd and it then that you can recognize you’ve moved into the way of living that you’ve desired.

The above quote is another one that many people aren’t aware of just how much energy they are expending throughout their day. Feeling exhausted but don’t feel like you did “productive” work? Please consider redefining the word “productive”. One doesn’t have to be moving the body to be productive, that is old way thinking. One is not being “lazy” by resting and nurturing the mind, body and soul. Just because you can’t SEE it, doesn’t mean things aren’t happening.
